When you contact us or complete a form, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, message, and speaking or media inquiry details. Newsletter forms request your email address and may request your name. Please provide only what is needed for your inquiry.

Website and usage information

Squarespace hosts this website and processes technical information to operate it, such as browser and device information, IP address, pages visited, referring websites, and dates and times of visits. Squarespace analytics may provide information about how visitors use the site. Cookies and similar technologies may support website functions, remember preferences, and measure visits.

How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries, provide requested resources, manage newsletter subscriptions, communicate about our books, podcast, and educational work, operate and improve the website, and maintain business records. Newsletter sign-up is optional. A general inquiry does not by itself request a marketing subscription.

Service providers and outside platforms

Squarespace stores form submissions and subscriber details. Form submissions may also be delivered to our email accounts, including Gmail, so our email providers process those messages. Google reCAPTCHA helps protect forms from spam and abuse and may process device and interaction information. Google Fonts are used on the attachment quiz page; loading those fonts connects your browser to Google. See Google’s Privacy Policy. When you choose to use Substack or visit retailers, social media, video, or podcast platforms linked or embedded on the site, those services may receive technical information and information you provide directly to them under their own privacy policies.

Read Squarespace’s Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. Read Substack’s Privacy Policy if you subscribe through Substack. Purchases made through Amazon, Audible, or another retailer are handled by that retailer under its own policies.

Newsletter choices

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in an email, or contact tressa@thefaninthewindow.com for help. If you subscribed directly through Substack, you can also manage your subscription there. Unsubscribing from one platform may not unsubscribe you from a separate subscription on another platform.

Cookies and your choices

Our cookie banner lets you accept, decline, or manage optional cookies. Nonessential cookies controlled by Squarespace are restricted until you consent. You can revisit your choice through Cookie Preferences. Necessary cookies remain available to operate the site. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings.
